NZC Achievement Objective:   Writing Level 2 - Ideas: Select,form and express ideas on a range of topics forms and expresses ideas and information with reasonable clarity, often drawing on           personal experience and knowledge begins to add or delete details and comments, showing some selectivity in the process
Learning Observed
Major had been reading the Maori legend about Maui fishing up the North Island and he used this idea to write his own story.  Major tried to use descriptive words to help create great effect. He also used letter sounds to write unknown vocabulary.
